Himesh Reshammiya- Male Playback Singer of India
Himesh Reshammiya is an Indian music director, composer, singer and actor.
Music and film careerHimesh Reshammiya was born in Bhavnagar, Gujarat to Vipin Reshammiya and Madhu Reshammiya. He had his first success[citation needed] as a music director of the 2003 film, Tere Naam. After that, he composed music for the film, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, as a singer, and songs like Tera Suroor, Zara Jhoom Jhoom and Tanhaiyan went on to become hits. Already famous for his voice, he tarted acting. His first film, Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story, was a success, but two of his later films did not do well at the box office.
In August 2010, it was announced that music video director Roman White was going to direct videos (to be filmed in September) for Reshammiya's first international album in English, named @ Da Edge, which is to be released in September 2011. The film will be released in 122 countries. Reshammiya was the first Indian singer to perform at the Wembley Arena and the Heineken music hall in Amsterdam.
On March 11, 2011, it was announced that Reshammiya was all set to make his Hollywood debut with a French director. The film is known as A * Is Killed and is based upon the mysterious death of pop star Michael Jackson.
Another of his upcoming films, titled A New Love Ishstory has been put on hold for more than two years by producer Bhushan Kumar. Bhushan said he will release the film after Damadamm! (aka Ishq Unplugged) is finished.
The music of the film Bodyguard was originally supposed to be composed by Pritam Chakraborty, but Reshammiya was asked to compose it by Salman Khan.
Himesh Reshammiya has been receiving rave and good reviews for his excellent composition in Bodyguard. "Teri Meri" and "Desi Beats" from Bodyguard have emerged as the top chart buster tracks of 2011 according to Bollywood Hungama and T-Series.
Reshammiya recently made an official announcement of giving music to upcoming projects that includes Namastey London 2 and a few more projects with Sachin Gupta, Vinit Singh and Arya.[citation needed]
Recently,[when?] he has collaborated 250 international known artists including Edward Maya and Lil Wayne and signed them for his music label HR Musik for his forthcoming international projects that will release in 2012.
Television
Before becoming a music director, Reshammiya produced several television serials, including Amar Prem and Andaaz on Zee TV. He also composed the title song of both.
Reshammiya was actively involved in mentoring and judging the singing competition, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge on Zee TV. His group was known as Rock Gharana. He was the winning mentor of the show in 2007. In 2009, Vaishali Made, a female contestant from his Rock Gharana, won the singing competition. He is also the team captain, judge and mentor on STAR Plus's show, Music Ka Maha Muqqabla for the team Himesh's Warriors.
Criticisms and controversies
In his debut film as an actor, Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story, Reshammiya added a song Tanhaiyaan from Boney Kapoor's proposed film Milenge Milenge.Initially, Reshammiya had composed the song for Kapoor's film but later decided to use it for his own movie. Tips, which held the audio rights of Milenge Milenge, accused Reshammiya of copyright violation, as audio rights for Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story were acquired by T-Series. However, Reshammiya defended himself saying that he had made Kapoor listen to the song, but it wasn't included in Milenge Milenge. He also claimed to have tried to get in touch with Kapoor for seven months, and since there was no progress on the film, he decided to use the song for his own movie. In June 2007, they reconciled their differences after Reshammiya apologized.
Awards and nominations

Reshammiya won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award in 2006 for Aashiq Banaya Aapne. This was his first and most successful[citation needed] song in 2005. He is the only music director in Bollywood to get Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. He also received several nominations for his music direction.
Personal life
At the age of 21, Himesh married Komal and they have a son, named Swayam. His family, including his parents, avoid media attention.

Alamelu was Hariharan's first guru (mentor). From here he picked up Carnatic music skills. He was also exposed to Hindustani music from a young age. In his teens, inspired by the songs of Mehdi Hassan and Jagjit Singh, Hariharan developed a passion for ghazals and started training in Hindustani music from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He used to put in thirteen hours of singing practice everyday. The committed Hariharan also put heart and soul into learning Urdu when he decided to become a ghazal singer.

At the start of his career, Hariharan did the concert circuit and also performed on TV. He sang for a number of TV serials (e.g., Junoon). In 1977, he bagged the top prize in the "All India Sur Singaar Competition" and was promptly signed on by the late music director Jaidev to sing for his new Hindi film Gaman (1978). His debut song "Ajeeb Saane He Mujh Par Qarar" in that movie became such a hit that it won him an Uttar Pradesh State Film Award, as well as a National Award nomination.
Hariharan entered the world of Tamil films in 1992 introduced by debutant music director A.R. Rahman with the patriotic song "Thamizha Thamizha" in Maniratnam's film Roja. He was judged best male playback singer in the 1995 Tamil Nadu State Government Film Awards for his soulful rendition of the song "Uyire Uyire" also by music director A.R Rahman in Maniratnam's Bombay (Hariharan sang the song with K.S. Chithra). Hariharan has been one of the most trusted singers of Rahman and has sung many songs for him in long list of movies that includes Muthu, Minsara Kanavu, Jeans, Indian, Mudhalvan, Taal, Rangeela, Indira, Iruvar, Anbe Aaruyire, Kangalal Kaithu Sei, Sivaji, Alaipayuthey, Kannathil Muthamittal, Guru, Enthiran etc. In 1998, Hariharan won the national award for the best playback singer for the soulful rendition of the song "Mere Dushman Mere Bhai" from the Hindi movie Border, composed by Anu Malik.
